On Tuesday 10/10, the members of the Glen Moore Fire Company visited the students at the Springton Manor Elementary School to review fire safety. Each year the members review fire safety and fire prevention at the school. Topics covered included when and how to call 9-1-1; stop - drop - and - roll; and what to do in a fire. Since this year's Fire Prevention Week topic focuses on kitchen safety, the members of GMFC also reviewed kitchen safety and what to do if there is a fire while cooking.
The students had a chance to see some of the tools that the firefigthers use and what the firefighters look like when they are in their protective gear.
The Glen Moore Fire Company would like to thank the Springton Manor Elementary School and the Downingtown Area School District for allowing us to continue this tradition and for partnering with us to promote fire safety.
The Glen Moore Fire Company also thanks its volunteers who took time away from their personal and professional lives today to provide this valuable education to our youngest community members. |
