On Wednesday evening, crews gathered for their weekly training. This week's topic was Pet Emergencies and Pet CPR.

Firefighter/EMT and Veterinarian Mary McCabe led the training. FF/EMT McCabe reviewed common emergencies that affect humans and pets as well as their differences. These included cardiac arrest, broken limbs, and exposure to certain illicit substances. An overview of dog and cat anatomy was provided so that the members could learn how to splint affected limbs, check for pulse, and administer oxygen using the appropriate pet oxygen mask.

The crew then had the ability to practice splinting and CPR on the pet manikins and stuffed dogs/cats.

The training was overseen by "Amber" from Uwchlan Ambulance Corps (Station 87) and "Cinder" - one of GMFC's unofficial mascots.
