On Wednesday, 4/25, Glen Moore Fire Co. hosted a rural water supply drill involving six neighboring companies. The scenario was based on recent fires fought by Glen Moore Fire Co and our mutual aid companies; it involved a simulated fire scene, deployment of several hand lines, a master stream, deployment of two porta-tanks, the use of a jet syphon to draw from the 2nd porta tank, a secondary fill site, and tanker shuttles between the fill site and the fire scene. Roughly 50 firefighters took part in the drill and 62,000 gallons of water was drafted, shuttled, and flowed from the attack engine. East Brandywine Fire Police did a great job of managing the high amount of apparatus traffic while maintaining safe travel for civilians.
The drill provided valuable training to all companies involved and the crews could not have worked better together. The event proved once again how dedicated, professional, and skilled each community's volunteer firefighters are. Glen Moore Fire Co would like to thank the following companies for coming out and participating:
- East Brandywine Fire Co
- Honey Brook Fire Co
- Lionville Fire Co
- Ludwig's Corner Fire Co
- Twin Valley Fire Co
- Westwood Fire Co
