June 1, 2019

On May 31, 2019, the Glen Moore Fire Company had its Annual Awards Banquet. This event is held every year to thank all our volunteers who selflessly give up their time to protect life and property in Wallace, West Nantmeal, Upper Uwchlan, and Est Nantmeal Townships. Township Officials, neighboring fire companies, police departments, and neighboring EMS companies were also in attendance. This year the banquet was held at the Hilton Garden Inn with roughly one hundred people in attendance.

The night kicked off 6:00 pm with a cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvre served by the staff. At 7:00 pm President Jeff Camp gave a brief welcoming address, followed by a great solo music performance from Bob Farrell, and a prayer and blessing of the food from GMFC Chaplin Matt York. The meal was served immediately following.

After the meal, Fire Chief Jeff Seese started by acknowledging the invited guest in attendance. The first award, the Peer to Peer Award, was present to Junior Firefighter Jeffrey Seese for his devotion to the community and standing out amongst his peers. This award gives our active staff a chance to select a stand out of their choice to be given the award.

The Junior Firefighter of the Year for 2018 was presented to Jeffrey Seese for his dedication and commitment to the Glen Moore Fire Company. Jeffrey attended 97% of all weekly training sessions as well as participating in outside training to better enhance his skills. He responded to 44.79% of all fire calls for 2018.

Ems Responder of the Year for 2018 was given to Max Quinn for his dedication, commitment, and training efforts for the year. Max is a recent graduate of the Uwchlan Ambulance Corps EMT program. He is putting that training to use by volunteering at Glen Moore and working for two local ambulance services in Chester County.

This year’s firefighter of the year, Mary McCabe, was chosen for her commitment to become a firefighter and EMT at GMFC. On her journey to help her community, she logged over 400 hours of National Certificate Training in 2018, which equates to over 10 weeks of 8-hour workdays. Mary exhibits many leadership qualities and has quietly impressed the command staff along the way.

To wrap up the presentations, Assistant Chief Andy Chambers, presented Sam Camp with a costume lab coat and stethoscope for being accepted into Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The fire service changed Sam's direction in life. after getting her Nationally Certified EMT, Sam made the decision to go into the medical field. We would like to wish Sam the best of luck on her endeavor to become a doctor.

We would like to congratulate all of this year's award recipients for their commitment and impressive stats in 2018.
