On this hot Wednesday evening for our weekly training night, the members of the Glen Moore Fire Company conducted hose line deployment races with the members of the Honey Brook Fire Company. The firefighters split into teams of two, one firefighter from each company and were told to work together to complete multiple tasks like setting up a 200 ft 1 3/4" attack line off either engine 33-1 or engine 48-1, and charging the line. Once the firefighters had the line charged they advanced the line through a set of cones and had to push a 55 gallon barrel through another set of cones with the water from the hose line. Once the barrel was pushed between the other two cones the crews had to again advance the hose line forward to knock over two cones with the water stream which completed the course.

The teams competed against time and each other and the teams with the best times advanced to the next round to compete against the other competitors. In the final round the two teams competing were told to put on airpacks before setting up their attack lines, for some added difficulty and real world practice.
