On Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 Manor Road Command special requested Engine 48-5 to the scene of an advanced building fire with a limited water supply. Station 49 (East Brandywine) arrived on the scene to find a 70 x 30 garage well off . Engine 48-5, with a crew of 4, made the response within minutes.
Upon arrival the crew from Glen Moore assisted transfering our 3000 gallon of water to Tanker 49 and establishing a water supply. Engine 48-5 drafted water from a porta-tank to supply engines 49 and 76 until units cleared.

Glen Moore Fire Company responded to numerous calls for wires down in our area much like the rest of the county as heavy rain drenched the area before wind gusts blew down trees.

On Wednesday March 5th crews from the Glen Moore and East Brandywine Fire Companies participated in a training program geared stricktly toward firefighter fitness. The class, instructed by G.M.F.C. Lt. Chambers, started with a classroom informational session talking about what we do to our bodies in the fire service. From there Lt. Chambers went into proper nutrition, body mass indexes, maximum heart rates, and finally a brief overview of the fitness activities for the evening. Crews participated in 10 fitness stations. Great job by everyone!!!
Thank you to Lt. Chambers for the excellent instruction, E.B.F.C. for their participation, and G.M.F.C. photographer Fred Clarke for the photos.
